Summary
This announcement is for a Country Coordinator position located in the Office of Foreign Assistance (F), Regional and Global Affairs (RG) Division, Near Eastern Affairs (F-NEA) team. You will be responsible for foreign assistance budget analysis and resource management functions, coordinating with regional bureaus at State and the USAID to shape, develop, and manage foreign assistance budgets, linking foreign assistance resources to foreign policy objectives.
Duties
Creates and directs consolidated policy, planning, budget and implementation mechanisms to provide leadership, coordination and guidance to maximize the impact of US foreign assistance resources.
Assesses existing activities to determine continued funding. Evaluates proposals for new projects or programs to determine their consistency with U.S. foreign policy objectives, likelihood of success, and value versus estimated cost.
Analyzes budget proposals, prepares justification/memoranda for review committee's recommendation and appropriate official's approval. Evaluates program effectiveness in relation to the funding expended.
Advises on foreign assistance program issues and problems; develops and proposes resolutions of program policy and procedural issues and coordinates implementation of management decisions on the program.
Drafts, clears, and issues program directives, policies, procedures, and other materials for use by posts and geographic bureaus in program implementation. Provides follow up problem solving assistance, guideline and technical consultations.
