Job Description
Senator Tim Sheehy seeks to hire a proactive, resourceful individual responsible for the success of front-office operations and administrative tasks. Applicants should have experience working on the Hill.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Maintains front office operations, including answering telephones and responding to voicemails, greeting visitors, assisting with the internship program, and completing other administrative tasks as required.
- Schedules Washington, DC tours for constituents; leads and trains interns to tour the U.S. Capitol building; maintains visitor literature, including tour information, maps, and Senate gallery passes.
- Handles constituents’ service requests, including processing requests for U.S. and state flags.
- Draft congratulatory or commemorative letters and general requests for government publications, bills, and speeches.
- Supports the office’s mailroom operation; ensures that all incoming postal and electronic mail is appropriately processed, screened, and routed to appropriate staff; enters constituent mail into the office’s correspondence management system.
- Drive Senator to events and activities.
Preferred Experience:
- 1+ years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Hill internship.
- Knowledge of congressional schedules and operations.
- Demonstrate success in high-level organizational skills.
- Computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills that value friendliness, collaboration, and creativity.
- Clean driving record.
