Summary

The position is located in the Bureau of Political Military Affairs, Office of Regional Security and Arms Transfers (PM/RSAT).


PM/RSAT advances U.S. foreign policy and national security interests through its management of bilateral/multi-lateral political-military and regional security relations and the sale/transfer of U.S.-origin defense articles and services to foreign governments.


Duties

Advises on the development of U.S. policy and strategies concerning the latest regional security and arms transfer developments.

Develops and manages comprehensive approaches to advance U.S. interests through bilateral political-military relations.

Analyzes arms transfers to ensure appropriateness of the transfer in responding to legitimate U.S. and recipient security needs.

Represents the Bureau at foreign policy discussions related to regional security and arms transfers pertaining to their portfolio.

Supports interagency efforts to build consensus for U.S. arms transfer and related foreign policy.
