Summary

The position is located in the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy, Office of International Cyberspace Security (CDP/ICS).


CDP/ICS leads the Department’s efforts to promote cyberspace stability and security and protect U .S. national security interests in cyberspace. It leads diplomatic engagement on international cyberspace security in multilateral, regional, and bilateral forums and work with like-minded states to execute coordinated responses to malicious cyber activity.


Duties

At the GS-11 and GS-12 levels, the incumbent performs the duties as outlined below; however, the scope and complexity of assignments are of less responsibility and independence. The incumbent receives closer than normal supervision than at the GS-13.

Advises on international cyber policy issues to formulate policy options and recommendations for decisionmakers.

Conducts research, analysis, and consultations with U.S. and foreign experts to develop and examine cyber policy proposals.

Supports the implementation of U.S. cyber policies and strategies.

Writes Congressional testimony, speeches, and press releases for CDP and ICS senior staff to explain U.S. cyber policy positions and activities.

Represents the Bureau and Department in cyber policy discussions with interagency and international partners.
