The person to fill the role of the Business Advisor is someone who prioritizes customer service, understands best practices in supporting small businesses in preparing loan packages, and can provide impactful coaching to small business owners. Who We Are:
Evergreen Business Capital Community Finance is a non-profit lender that offers financing solutions to support small businesses in our community. With offices and staff located in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska as well as North Idaho, we provide loans to small businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest, with a special focus on underserved communities. We offer term loans up to $250,000. Loans can be used for inventory, working capital, fixed assets, or other business needs and can be fully amortized.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Business Advisor is responsible for supporting small business owners as they work with Evergreen Business Capital Community Finance for their business capital needs and throughout their business lifecycle. The Business Advisor provides high quality, client centered and compassionate business coaching to small business owners. The Business Advisor acts as the main customer service contact to market, intake, analyze, and package new loan applications. This role is responsible for analyzing worksheets, financial statements, and other documents to evaluate loan quality. The Business Advisor works with the Credit Team during the application process and follows up with the business owner. They will work with the borrower to provide assistance before loan funding as well as after or refer to other partner/providers if necessary. The Business Advisor ensures the integrity of documentation, reporting, and modifications of loans within the portfolio. The position is responsible for providing quality data for impact measurement. The Business Advisor position is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely, with an expectation to be at the Evergreen Business Capital main office (13925 Interurban Avenue South Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98168) minimum 1-2 days per week and travel regionally for customer site visits and outreach 1-2 times per month.
General Responsibilities:
- Manage loan development process for Evergreen Business Capital Community Finance
- Maintain relationships with borrowers by providing business coaching, starting from the prospect stage through all stages of the life of the loan
- Represent Evergreen Business Capital Community Finance at events and workshops to promote programs and services
Location: The Business Advisor position is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely, with an expectation to be at the Evergreen Business Capital main office (13925 Interurban Avenue South Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98168) minimum 1-2 days per week and travel regionally for customer site visits and outreach 1-2 times per month.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Evergreen Business Capital Community Finance policies and procedures as well as Standard Operating Procedures from partner agencies
- Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all the company’s constituencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree or AA degree (equivalent experience may be substituted for degree) required
- Experience in small business ownership, coaching, consulting, or advising required
- Experience working with underserved business owners or communities is strongly preferred
- Experience or coursework in finance, economic development, sales, marketing, management, accounting, or business administration is strongly preferred
- Experience in a customer relations facing role preferred

- Solid knowledge of business financials, financial analysis and business planning

- Ability to travel regionally up to 10% of the time in personal vehicle, mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS standard mileage rate
