About the Role

We’re looking for an Advocacy & Impact Manager to lead EdTA’s efforts in influencing policy, securing funding, and mobilizing stakeholders at the federal, state, and local levels. This role will drive advocacy strategy, engage policymakers, and support our state chapters in advancing theatre education nationwide. If you are passionate about shaping arts education policy and have a high sense of urgency, this is the role for you.

A Typical Day May Include:

  • Developing and implementing advocacy strategies that support theatre education policies and funding.
  • Engaging with policymakers, education boards, and arts coalitions to advocate for teacher certification and funding initiatives.
  • Supporting the Executive Director in federal advocacy efforts and collaboration with national education and arts organizations.
  • Serving as the primary liaison for state chapters, providing advocacy guidance and resources to support local efforts.
  • Overseeing the implementation of advocacy tools and mobilizing national and local grassroots efforts.
  • Managing and facilitating quarterly Advocacy Leadership Network (ALN) meetings with chapter representatives.
  • Tracking and supporting state chapter advocacy goals, providing strategic guidance and documentation.
  • Coordinating key advocacy events, including Advocacy Day and Theatre in Our Schools (TIOS) initiatives.
  • Collaborating on national impact studies and climate surveys to support arts education research and policy efforts.

About You

  • You are passionate about arts education and public policy.
  • You are a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes advocacy efforts.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can engage with diverse stakeholders, from policymakers to grassroots supporters.
  • You bring expertise in education advocacy and a strong understanding of federal and state funding processes.
  • You are highly adaptable and can shift gears quickly based on legislative and policy changes.
  • You’re excited to lead grassroots mobilization efforts and empower others to advocate for theatre education.

Nice to Have, But Not Required:

  • Experience working with VoterVoice or similar advocacy platforms.
  • Previous involvement in arts education policy at the national or state level.

Why Choose Us?

At EdTA, you’ll be part of a mission-driven team working to secure the future of theatre education for students nationwide. Your work will make a tangible impact by shaping arts education policy and ensuring that every student has access to transformative learning experiences in theatre.
