Job Title: Development Operations Associate
Reports to: Director of Data Operations
Status: Full-Time
Location: Arlington, VA
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to play a key role in supporting our fundraising and donor relations efforts. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of our donor database, tracking fundraising metrics, and working closely with both the Director of Data Operations and Director of Development to execute our overall fundraising strategies The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, a passion for building relationships, and the ability to professionally represent APP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the donor database (CRM), ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Process donations, generate acknowledgment letters, and track donor communications to facilitate personalized communication with donors.
- Create and analyze reports on donor-giving trends, campaign performance, and fundraising metrics to assist in data-driven decision-making and strategy.
- Assist in donor segmentation, prospect research, and data-driven fundraising strategies.
- Facilitate donor relations efforts by communicating with donors regularly, in writing and verbally to ensure continued engagement and support of APP’s mission.
- Support event planning by managing invite lists, tracking attendance, and compiling post-event reports.
- Work with the development team to ensure seamless data entry and reconciliation with finance records.
- Improve and implement best practices for data hygiene, donor record management, and reporting.
Experience/Education/Qualification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent Associate's Degree or higher
- Experience with donor databases/CRM systems (Salesforce, Pipedrive, Raiser’s Edge, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Experience generating and interpreting reports to support fundraising efforts.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Impressive communication and organizational skills.
- Previous experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or data management is a plus.
