Who we are: Causa Justa Just Cause (CJJC) is a housing justice and anti-criminalization organization based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, born out of mergers between Black and Latinx grassroots organizations. With new executive leadership and a reconstructed organizing structure, we’re ready to center campaigning and direct action as the focal point of our work.


What we’re looking for: We’re recruiting for an Operations Coordinator, based in Oakland or San Francisco. The Operations Coordinator works as part of the Administration Team to build institutional stability, health and efficiency. They ensure the smooth functioning of facilities, supply management, and administrative systems  as the main contact for daily operations for all CJJC offices (Fruitvale and Excelsior neighborhoods). This position is supervised by the Executive Coordinator.


Office Operations

  • Maintain inventory of office supplies for all offices 
  • Manage facilities operations, security, and upkeep for all offices, including regular check-ins with building maintenance/management
  • Collaborate with consultants/vendors on maintenance of office equipment/hardware
  • Maintain Office Emergency/Safety plans and protocols, including up-to-date COVID and other public health considerations
  • Support to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws regulating 501c3 nonprofit organizations 
  • Manage building relationships and contracts including: supply companies, janitorial, landlords, deliveries
  • Maintain records for contracts, business registrations, and insurance enrollments
  • Retrieve mail for all offices; open, log, and distribute regularly to appropriate staff 


Human Resources

  • Work alongside Associate Director of Organizing, Culture, and Development, and HR consultant to coordinate onboarding of all new staff and offboarding of departing staff


Admin Team Participation 

  • Participate in weekly Administration Team meetings
  • Plan and execute logistics for organizational retreats and activities
  • Work with the rest of Admin Team to develop office policies and protocols
  • Coordinate with interpreters to arrange interpretation services for organizational meetings.


Organizational/All-Staff Duties 

  • Participate in program activities when “all hands on deck” 
  • Participate in organization-wide fundraising campaigns
  • Participate in political development activities
  • Participate in all staff meetings, evaluations, and retreats


Desired Qualifications: 

  • Outstanding organization and work-planning skills; impeccable attention to detail
  • Experience, expertise, and skills in organizational operations work; including office operations and communications, technology, and equipment systems
  • Proficiency with computer operations and programs, including spreadsheets, word processors, and databases
  • Proficiency or fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Valid driver license and access to a reliable vehicle a plus


Position Requirements:

  • Expected to work from home base office 3 days/week
  • Expected to visit the other office 2 days/week


This position includes some weekend work, as hours are based around our members’ schedules, which sometimes fall outside typical weekday 9am - 5pm work hours. Hourly rate is $31.25 per hour.
