The Office of Congresswoman Leger Fernández seeks a highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented Scheduler for the Washington DC Office. This is not an entry level position. Candidates must have exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, expertise prioritizing and managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The Scheduler maintains the Member’s daily and long-term schedule, coordinates all official travel, and acts as a liaison for the Member with other congressional offices, constituents, and other guests including executives from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Candidates with New Mexico ties preferred.

Job Duties

• Receives, organizes, and responds to all incoming scheduling requests and develops the Member’s schedule

• Briefs the Member on all scheduling activities of the Washington, DC, and New Mexico district offices on a regular basis

• Collects all relevant logistical and background information for all items on the schedule

• Works with the Member, Chief of Staff, and senior staff to determine and finalize the Member’s daily and long-term schedule and makes sure the Member has appropriate briefing materials

• Updates the Member and relevant staff on any scheduling changes throughout the day

• Coordinates and executes official travel arrangements, including air travel, lodging, and ground transportation

• Collects receipts for travel and office related expenses, and works with financial administrator to reconcile credit card accounts and member reimbursements

• Drives the Member to DC-based events on and off campus

• Other duties as assigned

• Reports directly to the Chief of Staff and Member

Successful candidates will be highly motivated, eager to learn, team-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a problem-solving attitude. The selected applicant will occasionally be expected to work long hours so flexibility, dedication, and availability by phone and email during evenings and weekends are required.

Salary range between 60K and 75K depending on experience level and eligibility for student loan payment benefits.
