The QTI Group is partnering with the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce to recruit a Research & Policy Coordinator to join their team.

In this newly created position, the Research & Policy Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the Chamber's economic development and advocacy efforts. The primary focus of this role is research, with an emphasis on aggregating and analyzing economic data to inform the Chamber’s collective work. The ideal candidate will possess an independent, proactive mindset with a passion for solving community problems.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead research and provide actionable insights for a regional membership organization focused on building inclusive economic growth and community prosperity.

Compensation Range: $45k-55k, based on experience, with excellent benefits offered.

Reports to: Vice President

Location: In-office Monday through Thursday with an option to work remotely on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Benchmark and track economic data to identify relevant trends and insights.
  • Conduct research on a variety of topics, including workforce demographics, industry clusters, policy best practices, and other issues that impact Chamber members.
  • Prepare reports and summaries that communicate research findings to internal teams and members.
  • Work closely with the Chamber's policy team to align research efforts with advocacy objectives.
  • Provide staffing support for Chamber workforce and economic development projects, member surveys and programming.
  • Attend public meetings, as needed, to complement research activities.
Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in fields that could include Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Political Science or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in research, economic development, workforce development, statistics, public policy or a related field. This could include academic research experience.
  • Demonstrated natural curiosity and initiative to understand issues with community impact.
  • Proactive approach to identifying research needs and ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience with advanced data tools (e.g., Power BI, Python, R, SPSS, Tableau) to analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
