Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team, playing a pivotal role in advancing our mission through comprehensive county research, strategic retention planning, and effective marketing outreach efforts. This position requires a deep understanding of educational landscapes, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting schools and communities. This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Arts Program Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

County Research:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of each county and school district within our service area.
  • Gather data on demographics, educational trends, and community needs to inform strategic initiatives.

Retention Strategy:

  • Review current retention efforts and develop comprehensive plans to enhance engagement and satisfaction among schools and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement strategies that foster long-term relationships and support retention goals.

Marketing and Outreach:

  • Manage marketing initiatives with a focus on outreach to schools and community stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute e-blast campaigns to promote programs and initiatives.
  • Create compelling collateral materials to effectively communicate our mission and impact.
  • Coordinate closely with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Development and Grant Writing:

  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and fundraising efforts to secure funding for educational programs.
  • Provide support to schools applying for Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) grants, ensuring compliance and successful submission.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Development team to align efforts and maximize funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

While no one candidate will possess every quality outlined for this position, the successful candidate will fit many of the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Marketing, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in community engagement, education administration, or nonprofit management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing and proposal development.
  • Proficiency in marketing strategies, including digital marketing and content creation.
  • Knowledge of MSAC grants and other funding mechanisms for educational initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with diverse stakeholders.

Compensation:

We offer a starting annual salary of $54,500 and an attractive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision healthcare coverage, retirement contributions, and a flexible paid time off policy.
