Elevate Government Affairs is seeking a detail-oriented intern to support our firm’s work on transportation and infrastructure, technology and telecommunications, and energy policy. We are looking for an energetic individual to join our tight-knit, bipartisan and bicameral team and help us continue to deliver results for our clients. This is a full-time, in-person and paid position. Successful candidates must be available to start January 6th  and work through May 23rd.

Elevate Government Affairs was founded by three seasoned government relations professionals to provide tailored strategies for clients to succeed in an ever-evolving government affairs environment where it is increasingly more difficult to be heard.


Responsibilities

The intern will support in the creation of client deliverables, conduct policy research, cover congressional hearings and client phone calls. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Tracking client issues
  • Assisting with the background research for client deliverables including but not limited to:
  • Legislative research memoranda
  • Policy/committee action overviews and updates
  • Major legislation tracking
  • Business development proposals and pitch documents
  • Statements of work to accompany client invoices
  • Coverage of House and Senate hearings including drafting of summary documents for client transmission
  • Coverage of client calls and meetings including deliverables tracking and notes
  • The intern will also participate in day-to-day office responsibilities including answering the phone and handling office reception.


Qualifications


Successful candidates will have a stated interest in Federal policy and government. Previous policy-related intern experience is desirable, but not required. Additional qualifications include:


  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Some knowledge of the Legislative and Executive Branches including structure and composition
  • Desire to learn and grow, including proactivity in seeking new tasks
