This role requires an in-depth understanding of IT initiatives, health research, regulatory frameworks, and policy development processes to ensure that federal government agency's policies are effective, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives.
This role will support the IT department, specifically, the Office of Information Technology and Data Innovation (ITDI).

Job Summary

This role will support the IT department, specifically, the Office of Information Technology and Data Innovation (ITDI).
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development:
- Lead the development, drafting, and review of policies related to ARPA-H initiatives.
- Ensure policies are aligned with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as ARPA-H's strategic goals.
- Conduct thorough research to support policy recommendations and decisions.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and analyze changes in healthcare regulations and policies that may impact ARPA-H projects and initiatives.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices to internal teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback on policy development.
- Facilitate discussions and consultations with subject matter experts, legal advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Communicate policy changes and updates effectively to all stakeholders.
- Policy Analysis and Evaluation:
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of existing policies and recommend improvements.
- Conduct impact assessments and risk analyses to inform policy decisions.
- Prepare reports and presentations on policy analysis and recommendations for senior management.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver training programs and materials on new and revised policies.
- Educate staff and stakeholders on policy requirements and compliance obligations.
- Provide ongoing support and clarification on policy-related questions and issues.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of all policies and related materials.
- Prepare detailed reports on policy development activities, outcomes, and compliance status.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of required regulatory reports.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Health Administration, Law, or a related field. Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in policy writing, analysis, and implementation, preferably in the federal sector.
- Experience leading startup activities for IT policies and IT standard operating procedures at a federal agency.
- Experience leading startup activities for policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) at a federal agency.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and understanding of healthcare policies and regulations and their impact on IT initiatives.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of health research, regulatory frameworks, and IT policy and IT SOP development processes.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in using policy research tools and software.
