Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. (HSPRD) seeks a Junior Associate with two to four years of experience to join the firm in Fall 2025 with the firm’s Complex Litigation group, which has a practice concentrated in the areas of Civil Rights & Constitutional Law, Employment Law, and False Claims Act litigation.

We seek a junior litigation Associate to work on a range of cases on an active litigation docket in state and federal courts throughout Illinois, and around the country. The Associate will be involved in all aspects of litigation from case evaluation, investigation, and initiation, through discovery and motion practice, to trial and appeals. HSPRD routinely handles significant lawsuits that provide associates with substantial opportunities for substantive work as they develop professionally. We also regularly partner with non-profit and advocacy organizations on important impact litigation. In addition, the Associate may assist with the representation of individuals in a range of employment matters, pre-litigation negotiations, in administrative proceedings, and in litigation, and assist other practice groups of HSPRD as needed.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytic skills;
- Demonstrated interest and experience in pursuing a career in complex litigation on issues related to constitutional law, discrimination, workers’ rights, immigrants’ rights, government misconduct, and class actions;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively;
- Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team; and
- Willingness to work on cases with the firm’s other practice groups.
- Fluency in Spanish and connections to Chicago are valued, though not required.
