Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) is looking for a skilled, savvy, and hardworking Digital Aide. Responsibilities include shooting and editing recorded videos and livestreams; photographing events; assisting in technical event production; writing and editing digital content; archiving and organizing content; monitoring social media platforms for relevant news, posts, and trends; creating graphics, floor charts, podium signs, and other creative assets; and assisting communications staff with the day-to-day operations of a very active digital operation. The ideal applicant will have at least one to two years of demonstrated experience working in digital communications, preferably in a government office or in a campaign setting. Experience operating audio-video equipment and with related production software, primarily Adobe Suite, is required. Applicants must work well in a fast-paced environment, be willing to travel and work extended hours on the weekend and evenings, and have excellent written and oral communications skills. Candidates from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, working class, military, and/or other underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply, as well as candidates with ties to Massachusetts. This position is based in Boston with the expectation of frequent travel to Washington, D.C, and with a salary of $61,000 annually and benefits that include a federal student loan repayment option.
