Deputy Finance Director
The Deputy Finance Director manages the finance department staff to build and execute major donor programming, alongside the DSCC Finance Director. The Deputy Finance Director works closely with the Finance Director to help regional teams meet their monthly goals and ensure finance staff have the necessary resources to succeed. The Deputy Finance Director leads coordination efforts with other DSCC departments to communicate and manage the Finance Department’s talking point needs. The Deputy Finance Director reports directly to the DSCC Finance Director.
Responsibilities include:
The Deputy Finance Director manages the finance department staff to build and execute major donor programming, alongside the DSCC Finance Director. The Deputy Finance Director works closely with the Finance Director to help regional teams meet their monthly goals and ensure finance staff have the necessary resources to succeed. The Deputy Finance Director leads coordination efforts with other DSCC departments to communicate and manage the Finance Department’s talking point needs. The Deputy Finance Director reports directly to the DSCC Finance Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Hiring and managing the DSCC Finance Department team, alongside the Finance Director;
- Collaborating across DSCC departments – including communications, political, research, voter protection, data analytics – to ensure the Finance Department has the necessary resources and up-to-date information to effectively brief donors and Senators on the DSCC’s efforts to elect a Democratic Senate;
- Developing and executing major donor packaging, trips, retreats, and events;
- Tracking major donor income and progress to fundraising goals;
- Overseeing and managing all written materials and memos distributed to senators, candidates, and donors;
- Managing major donor fundraising calendar;
- Briefing the DSCC Chair, senators, and chiefs of staff on DSCC’s fundraising programs and events
Candidates must have:
- At least 6 – 8 years of political fundraising experience;
- Significant experience fundraising in a fast-paced environment, preferably on a political campaign or at a committee;
- Success in building a strong rapport among staff;
- Experience staffing and briefing elected officials;
- Significant experience and skill in building strong internal processes and systems;
- Demonstrates strong political instincts and uses discretion;
- Experience using NGP as a fundraising database.
The ideal candidate will also have the majority of the following qualifications:
- Donor relationships;
- Relationships with Senate Democratic fundraisers;
- Experience hiring and managing a large team of internal staff and consultants;
- General knowledge of the Democratic Senate Caucus and commitment to restoring the Democratic majority in the Senate;
- Exceptional attention to detail.
The salary for this position is $140,000 annually.
