DIGITAL DIRECTOR - REP. JOAQUIN CASTRO (TX-20)
Rep. Joaquin Castro (TX-20) seeks a creative and self-motivated professional with experience in digital and social media, video editing, and content creation to join a fast-paced and dynamic Communications team as Digital Director. This position reports to the Communications Director.
Candidates should expect to develop and execute a short-term and long-term digital communications strategy to engage with constituents and local and national stakeholders on a daily basis. They must possess very strong writing skills and remain proactive and nimble at all times. An ideal candidate is a team player, collaborative, creative, and highly organized person with design platform (Adobe Photoshop, Canva) experience, as well as audio, photo, and video editing experience.
Other duties include tracking social media analytics, staying abreast of media trends and news in real-time, creating digital copy, content, videos and graphics quickly, and the ability to work in tandem with the Communications Director and Press and Digital Assistant on all media plans, press conferences, and events. Our team values a proactive, can-do, respectful attitude and the ability to distill complex policy issues into effective and authentic content.
Administration and Capitol Hill experience, as well as San Antonio or Texas ties, are a plus but not required. Candidates should be aware that this position will often require evening and weekend work. The salary for this position will likely be in the $65,000 - $70,000 range, depending on experience.
