Summary

About the Position: Serve as a senior Public Affairs specialist responsible for researching, assembling, writing and disseminating sensitive, critical and complex information for both internal and external publics on a wide variety of subjects in support of the Army's mission. This position is located in Arlington, Virginia.


Duties

Review and analyze programs and policies for their relationship to public opinion.

Develop trends on controversial issues raised by the news media or public.

Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal information, news media relations and community relations programs in achieving greater understanding of the Army's mission and programs.

Analyze information needs of the public and of special interest and demographic groups and develops effective methods of meeting these needs.

Assist in determining and carrying out the objectives of the Army public affairs programs.

Develop public affairs plans for specific issues or projects, addressing the needs of the target audience, most appropriate communication techniques, and recommended approaches.
