Job Description
The Case Manager is an integral member of Sanctuary for Families’ Anti-Trafficking Initiative (ATI), one of the nation’s leading service providers for survivors of human trafficking and related forms of gender-based violence in the country. In addition to legal services, ATI provides its clients with a wide range of social, case management, and advocacy services. This position entails working in a high-paced, dynamic, sometimes crisis-responsive environment, learning and navigating multiple systems, including law enforcement (federal and state), public housing, public assistance, and interfacing with public interest partner organizations while managing a fairly large case load. We are looking to fill 2 openings for this role.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.A. or relevant work experience required
- Ability to work respectfully with clients from many different cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Sensitivity to experiences of sexual exploitation, domestic violence and other gender-related abuse;
- Experience working with immigrants, survivors of sexual violence, victims of trauma;
- Knowledge of the dynamics of gender-based oppression and a strong motivation to combat gender-based violence;
- Working knowledge of NYC public benefits programs;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize;
- Strong ability to work independently;
- Excellent judgment;
- Excellent problem solving skills;
- Outstanding writing and editing skills;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills;
- Strong work ethic;
- Positive and solution-oriented, even under pressure;
- Computer literacy
- Energetic and passionate about Sanctuary’s mission of ending gender violence and human trafficking.
Work position is Full-time (35 std hrs/wk); Hourly/Non-Exempt
Work schedule is currently Hybrid; must be able to meet job location schedule obligation
