The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications The New York Senate Minority Conference is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join their team in Albany. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing communications strategy on behalf of the members of the Conference. The coordinator will work with Albany, regional, and district-based offices to formulate communications strategy and supplement communications implementation.The most qualified candidate must: •Produce professional written and multimedia content within deadlines;•Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with others;•Speak and write professionally and persuasively;•Maintain and assist in managing social media presence;•Meet strict deadlines;•Follow oral and written directions;•Work independently;•Collaborate with others as part of a team;•Have a bachelor’s degree.Additionally, writing and digital media knowledge and skills are required, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, and X.
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The essential functions in this dynamic role include: •Craft content that builds into a narrative for state and local messaging;•Identify opportunities to cultivate media coverage for member offices;•Organize and assist with press conferences and special events (may require travel);•Assist in the development, writing, editing, and distribution of internal and external communications materials as necessary;•Produce regular reports on activity and background materials for internal and external use;•Assist in the writing of social media postings, press releases, statements, speeches, and opinion editorials;•Utilize legislative, policy, finance, communications, and digital specialists to improve communications; and•Research public policy issues of local, regional, and statewide significance.
