Programme Overview

Peepul has been partnering with the School Education Department, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, for multiple years now. Working closely with the state bureaucratic leadership, Peepul has played a meaningful role in strengthening the education system of the state. The partnership has been a successful one with national and international recognition of the work. One of the flagship programmes of the state we are co-leading is the CM RISE Schools Programme. This breakthrough programme looks to build ~10,000 world-class public schools in the state, that enable excellence. In the first phase, there are 300 K-12 schools selected. Peepul is co-leading the Academic Support and Monitoring Unit.

Additionally, Peepul is also supporting the State in the implementation of the PM SHRI schools programme. The PM SHRI Programme is a five-year initiative started by the 1 Ministry of Education that envisions to develop 14500 exemplar schools in the nation to meet the demands of the 21st century. It aims to qualitatively strengthen the schools to showcase the various aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.

In the first two phases of the programme, 553 schools have been identified in the State of Madhya Pradesh, to be developed as PM SHRI schools. Peepul is supporting in the design and implementation of the academic interventions under the programme.

About the role

The Programme Manager at Peepul is purpose-driven, role-modelling the organisation's values through active sharing and inclusivity. As impact-oriented team managers, they lead significant program components, maintaining high output quality and effectively allocating tasks. The Programme Manager Training will primarily create and deliver capacity-building interventions to support the successful setup and functioning of CM Rise Schools and other state priorities. Working closely with education authorities, the Programme Manager Training designs high-quality continuous professional development interventions for teachers, school leaders, and academic officials.

Responsibilities would include (including but not limited to):

Program Management and Training:

Program Design and Execution:

  • Understand the context, needs of stakeholders, behavioral insights, system constraints, and incentives to design the overall program.
  • Design stakeholder capacity-building programs for stakeholders across multiple layers in the system.
  • Design solutions for scale from ab-initio always keeping an institutionalization lens and integrated work with the state.
  • Collaborate with the Programme Director to ensure effective and scalable implementation of the program. o Work collectively with state team members to share key insights and ensure high-quality on-ground execution of the program.
  • Training Content Design and Delivery:
  • Lead the development and delivery of high-quality training content for the CM Rise Schools & PM Shri Program, catering to teachers, school leaders, and education officials.
  • Oversee the end-to-end instructional design of blended training content, including the creation of engaging digital learning resources.
  • Establish standards for content design and implement processes to measure the impact of the training.
  • Identify and curate excellent training content from various sources, building a repository of professional development resources.
  • Foster productive collaborations with knowledge partners across the state to enhance training content. Manage a team of project managers and coordinators to ensure the program's smooth and successful execution.
  • Strategic Leadership and Advisory:
  • Visionary Strategic Planning and Leadership:
  • Craft and implement forward-thinking strategic plans that align with state educational policies and standards, driving the achievement of the state education departments objectives.
  • Spearhead and manage a multidisciplinary team of project managers to deliver state-of-the-art educational programs and initiatives.
  • Advisory Role on Teacher Professional Development:
  • Advise and support the state government in establishing sustainable processes for the continuous professional development of teachers, principals, and education officers.
  • Present data-backed research insights to strengthen the training domains.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments to identify government schoolteachers' and principals' challenges and requirements.
  • Establish seamless communication with state government institutions to facilitate effective training and its impact.
  • Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
  • Develop robust frameworks for monitoring and evaluating the performance of educational programs, leveraging data-driven insights to foster continuous improvement.
  • Identify potential risks and devise strategic mitigation plans to ensure the uninterrupted success of program delivery.
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality and effectiveness in deliverables through rigorous quality assurance processes.
  • Oversee the programs financial health, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and meticulous tracking of expenditures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Government Liaison, Advisory, and Relationship Building:
  • Serve as the principal point of contact and trusted advisor between Peepul and the state education department, ensuring seamless communication and strategic alignment and providing strategic advice on multiple domains.
  • Establish seamless communication with state government institutions to facilitate effective training and its impact
  • Dynamic Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with a diverse array of stakeholders, including state officials, school administrators, educators, and community leaders, to gather insights and ensure their needs are addressed.
  • Build strong relationships with government officials and education stakeholders in Madhya Pradesh.
  • Represent Peepul in high-level meetings and conferences related to education reform.
  • Foster collaborations with other organisations and institutions for program implementation.
  • Transparent Reporting and Communication:
  • Provide comprehensive updates and detailed reports to the state education department, highlighting progress, challenges, and actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments to identify government school teachers' and principals' challenges and requirements.
  • Ensure clear and transparent communication of the programs goals, progress, and outcomes to all stakeholders.
  • Qualifications and Role Requirements:

  • We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:
  • Educational Background: A relevant educational background in education, social sciences, development studies, or related disciplines is highly preferred.
  • Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 8-10 years of experience designing and delivering capacity-building interventions in the education sector, preferably in school settings. Additionally, experience working with government entities and familiarity with the Indian education system are highly desirable.
  • Other Skills: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee end-to end training content development and delivery.
  • Language Proficiency: English and Hindi
