The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking applications for a Social Media Fellow. The position will report to the Communications Director and work across departments to create digital content to amplify our message and reach news audiences.

The Social Media Fellow will be responsible for designing graphics, generating proactive social media content and assisting with rapid response campaigns. You will work with press and digital staff, collaborate with candidates, elected officials and other external partners to drive the Democratic message.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the development of social media and video content in a timely manner as requested by the digital team and crossdepartmentally.
  • Update and maintain a social media content calendar to ensure FDP is delivering proactive digital content and responding to news of the day.
  • Draft scripts for the Party Chair and surrogates to create video content for Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube.
  • Monitor media and social platforms amplifying relevant clips on FDP’s social channels.
  • Coordinate digital events and identify opportunities to collaborate on content with digital influencers.
  • Support other special projects, assignments, and tasks in collaboration with FDP leadership and other departments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and ability to keep wellorganized
  • Experience with design software Canva, CapCut, etc. is a plus
  • A passion for creating content for Democratic political campaigns, political committees, and/or likeminded organizations

Salary & Benefits:

Fellows will be required to set a part-time schedule at a minimum of 10-hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week and earn $15/hr.
