Duties

As a Policy Advisor for Trade Policy Coordination, GS-301-GS-15, your typical work assignments may include the following:


Coordinate United States Trade Representative (USTR) responses on pending Legislative Referral Memoranda (LRM) submitted by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Coordinate agency participation in Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigations, including by serving as the GAO Liaison Officer, implementing procedures for engagement with GAO in its investigations, and communicating with Congress on engagement with GAO as required by statute.

Prepare for, and coordinate meetings between, senior USTR officials and those that comprise the Trade Policy Review Group (TPRG), including to resolve trade policy differences at the under-secretary level.

Coordinate the production of USTR reports required by statute such as the Trade Policy Agenda and Annual Report of the President of the United States on the Trade Agreements Program; and the National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade Barriers.

Coordinate the flow of information for the Assistant United States Trade Representative for Trade Policy Coordination (TPC AUSTR) and other senior officials within USTR.
