As the director of International Communications and Campaigns, you will oversee the strategy and implementation of communication campaigns around the world to elevate global visibility, enhance brand reputation, drive stakeholder engagement and deliver tangible results for the company.

This individual should possess a proven track record in leading integrated teams and campaigns across diverse geographical regions, be adept at influencing brand perceptions within specific target demographics, be skilled in developing key media partnerships, and meticulously analyze outcomes to drive meaningful progress. They should demonstrate a deep understanding of the contemporary global landscape, encompassing cultural, economic, and political perspectives. As a director, you will…

  • Lead and execute annual strategic communication campaigns aimed at enhancing brand reputation and perception among target audiences.
  • Identify and analyze complex issues and crises and apply data-driven insights to develop timely strategic communications plans for mitigating brand risks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders, cross-functional teams, peers, and key stakeholders, through collaborative conversations that enhance business understanding and consider brand reputation implications to drive impactful results.
  • Act as the company spokesperson, both internally and externally, crafting a genuine and compelling narrative that shapes brand perception.
  • Oversee global monitoring and reporting to actively manage and enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Effectively manage resource allocation within the annual operating plan and approved program budget, while maximizing efficiencies.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and leadership support to the team by communicating a compelling and inspired vision that challenges and motivates partners (employees) to maintain accountability for behavior and performance.
  • Drive the development of global communications and campaign standards, practices, and compliance

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Significant corporate communications or agency experience (12+ years) that includes a blend of strategic communications, international affairs, media relations and stakeholder engagement at a global organization.
  • Demonstrated project management expertise, with exceptional organizational skills, and attention to detail with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve shared goal
  • Strong verbal and written communication, copyediting, and visual presentation skills tailored for global audiences.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • A collaborative attitude, adaptive and resilient amid change, with flexible availability for critical after-hours assignments to act with urgency and achieve timely results.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with an ability to work both independently and inter-dependently with large diverse teams
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in working with in-house and agency teams across geographies as well as managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with database management, mastery of Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint and Word preferred.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
