Organizing Apprenticeship - UNITE HERE Local 217

Members of UNITE HERE Local 217 work in hospitality and food service across Connecticut. We fight hard for social and economic justice by building worker power. From 2023-2024, we grew by 500 workers who are taking on big, wealthy employers and winning life-changing contracts. 

We're looking for individuals who want to learn to fight side by side with workers for a better life to join us for our organizing apprenticeship. Start date is flexible (though sooner is better). Organizing experience neither required nor preferred. Good candidates will be both flexible and dedicated. 

This apprenticeship will train you on basic and advanced organizing skills through shadowing and close work with our staff organizers. You will learn to organize people to stand up for their rights and build worker-led committees to take on multi-national corporations.

Ability to drive to various parts of Connecticut and flexibility in scheduling preferred.
