Job Description
The Bureau’s Office of Community Development is responsible for the administration of federal funds and requirements for the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program, the Emergency Solutions Grant Program, HOME, and State grants provided through DCED and the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. Through these programs, the City allocates millions of dollars to community priorities and organizations, with an emphasis on funding the preservation and production of safe and affordable housing, promoting neighborhood revitalization, and the prevention and mitigation of homelessness.
Member Duties : Assist the Bureau of Community Development in establishing trust and connection between residents and city staff by developing outreach initiatives that inform and include residents in the functions of the department. This can include program-based initiatives, such as the Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Program, overall relationships building with residents, property owners, and resource partners, and data collection to track and measure initiatives.
