Make an impact with families and young children and join a team that is dedicated to your growth! We are seeking an experienced people manager with a social work or clinical background to provide direct service and lead our on-site family practice team in NYC. 

About Room to Grow

Room to Grow uses a two-generation, preventative, and strengths-based approach to engage families and their children, from birth to 3 years old. Parents and caregivers partner with program staff to develop strategies to support their child's development, select the baby and toddler items that their child needs, and connect with community resources. Families join the program during pregnancy and continue until their child’s third birthday, attending visits every 3 months with their child at Room to Grow’s warm, welcoming Family Centers.

Who Our Family Support Team Manager Is:

Mission Alignment

  • You are excited about supporting families with children from birth to age 3 years old
  • You demonstrate a dedication to equity and inclusion in all aspects of work and recognize the practice implications of the cultural, familial and social systems that influence and affect caregivers and children

Direct Practice & Practice Support

  • You have a strong working knowledge about how to lead family-driven conversations and develop long-term, meaningful relationships with parents and caregivers to talk through the challenges and joys of early parenthood 
  • You motivate and engage your team to consistently offer high-quality, positive experiences for participating families
  • You use your clinical engagement skills to promote family growth and wellness through conversations about topics like family priorities, child development, child sleep habits, systems of social support, etc. 

People Management

  • You use your people management skill sets to provide ongoing support and clinical supervision to your team as they navigate and overcome challenges in their practice and program implementation

Professionalism & Values

  • You can toggle between daily program activities (ex: direct family practice, staff support) and broader programmatic considerations (ex: evaluating program efficiencies and systems) to ensure that the program and team are meeting their goals
  • You are a self-motivated, growth-oriented person who thrives in collaborative work environments, while being open to continued peer and manager support and training around our particular family practice

What Our Family Support Team Manager Needs:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English required
  • Advanced experience in child development, social work, mental health or related field or graduate degree (e.g. MSW, MA) preferred
  • State licensure preferred when applicable (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, CEIS)
  • A passion for coaching and mentoring others
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Experience with documentation in an electronic data-capture system (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Desire to continuously seek knowledge and best practices in the fields of people management, early childhood, child development, and parenting

This position is full-time and in-person at our South Bronx Family Center.
