About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Communications Specialist to assist with a variety of communications tasks supporting our team. This role involves content writing, social media, content creation and management, and multimedia production efforts, with a strong emphasis on editorial tasks and content management systems. The ideal candidate will be a creative and detail-oriented professional with a passion for storytelling and brand visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media (75%)

  • Lead dynamic social media strategies that inspire and engage our online community.
  • Craft and publish content across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok that highlights the heart of NBDF’s mission.
  • Analyze performance data to refine our strategies and increase reach.
  • Manage projects with the Project Specialist through HIVE or Monday.com.

Content Writing (15%)

  • Be a key voice in shaping the narrative for NBDF’s mission in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Public Relations.
  • Research, write, and edit compelling stories for both digital and print platforms that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Elevate our impact through well-coordinated storytelling.

Media Relations (10%):

  • Help drive NBDF’s visibility by contributing to media outreach strategies.
  • Write and edit media releases and articles that spotlight our organization’s groundbreaking work and partnerships.

What You Bring:

To qualify for this unique opportunity, our ideal candidate should have the following experience and education:

  • Bachelor’s in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of professional communications experience.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Cision, InDesign, or similar tools
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, to multitask, and manage time effectively while working under tight deadlines
  • Ability to write/speak in Spanish is a plus!

Where You Will Work:

This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S. You should be comfortable working remotely with a team spread across the country and have a stable internet connection for video conferencing. This role involves occasional travel, typically 2-3 times a year for events outside your local area, which may require overnight or weekend stays. Additionally, all NBDF employees are required to attend and work at our annual Bleeding Disorders Conference.
