Job Location: Multiple Locations across Pennsylvania

Reports to: Regional Organizing Director

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is hiring Regional Organizers to ensure that President Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot secure victory in November. At their core, a Regional Organizer connects and activates people; is ready to build relationships; loves talking to voters; and believes in developing and coaching volunteers. Regional Organizers execute the statewide organizing program in their area of the state. To meet the goals for their region, Regional Organizers will recruit and develop a number of volunteers to engage in direct voter contact, community and digital outreach, and relational voter contact. They will collaborate with their volunteers to build and expand local volunteer infrastructure. Regional Organizers report directly to the Regional Organizing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Work to build local grassroots volunteer leadership to engage with direct and relational voter contact.

  • Engage with the community in their turf to create a relentlessly visible campaign both online and offline.

  • Implement grassroots organizing tactics, including managing and executing effective voter contact activities, such as community events, house meetings, tabling, high traffic canvassing, door-to-door canvassing, & phone banks.

  • Implement digital and relational tactics, including friendbanks, content engagement, virtual voter contact, digital door knocking, and maintaining digital community.

  • Build the local volunteer infrastructure necessary for success.

  • Meet and exceed goals for volunteer recruitment & retention as well as voter contact.

  • Manage and delegate to a turf team of various engagement and field organizers.

In this position you will:

  • Recruit, train, and manage teams of volunteers to meet voter contact and capacity-building goals;

  • Identify and develop volunteer leaders to organize house parties, constituency and issue-based events, canvasses, phone banks, and other events designed to persuade voters and engage volunteers;

  • Build volunteer teams to fill critical leadership roles to expand our reach across Pennsylvania;

  • Use digital tools to engage new volunteers, expand the electorate, and highlight our work on the ground;

  • Manage relationships with community leaders, allied organizations, political stakeholders, and local Democratic activists.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Enthusiasm for building meaningful relationships in the communities we’re organizing;

  • Goals-oriented and self-disciplined; able to meet tight deadlines and multitask;

  • Willing to learn campaign technology including Google Sheets and Votebuilder;

  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment;

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends;

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle;

  • Previous campaign experience or experience working with volunteers is preferred but not required.

This role is a full time, in person role located in cities across Pennsylvania.
