Travel Support Specialist
Summary
The position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Travel and Events Division (TED). The incumbent serves as a Travel Support Specialist for the Director, TED and senior leadership in the OCFO by assisting in managing the Passport and Visa Program; planning and carrying out analytical reviews of financial reporting, reconciliations, operations; and other analyses for the EOP Post-Audit Program.
Duties
As a Travel Support Specialist, GS-0301-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Manages the agency's international services operations by providing visa guidance and serving as the principal liaison with the Department of State and foreign Embassies.
Serves as Department of State delegated Passport Agent for accepting passport applications and administering oaths in connection the Passport Program.
Prepares visa and passport applications, updating manifests to be submitted to the Department of State or foreign embassies, entering customer data, making arrangements for payment of fees, and returning documents back to customers.
Manages travel help desk by providing customer service; advising customers regarding unusual and/or complex travel issues; managing transactions in the travel management system; and responding to all travel related issues.
Serves as a reviewing official for travel authorizations and vouchers in the travel management system as delegated by the Director.
Provides training to travelers on processing and reconciling travel vouchers to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
