The Role

The Policy & Regulatory Analyst reports to the Head of Policy & Regulatory and is responsible for supporting initiatives to influence public policy that accelerates zero emission vehicle deployment to maximize opportunities leveraging incentives for Zeem, position the company as a thought leader on policy advocacy, and a primary use case to effectively implement public programs and funding to support our business model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports efforts to obtain grants, incentives, subsidies, rebates, tax credits, and additional public funding opportunities.
  • Leverage existing relationships and/or build new relationships with Federal, State, and local leaders to advocate for public funding programs that are inclusive of Zeem’s unique business model and accelerate ZEV deployments.
  • Coordinate the development, response, and post award management of applications for grants, incentives, and rebates as well government solicitations like requests for information and proposals.
  • Monitor and evaluate funding opportunities related to transportation electrification that may be beneficial for Zeem and Zeem’s customers.
  • Provide timely information and accurate analysis of markets, locations, and policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate utility transportation electrification programs and ensure Zeem’s business model is covered.
  • Review proposed legislation to determine potential impact to Zeem and provide feedback when applicable or recommend changes to improve efficacy or business impact.
  • Analyze data to recommend changes in existing laws or propose new legislation that would be effective in advancing Zeem’s business model and zero emission mobility.
  • Maintain relationships with strategic industry insiders and partners.
  • Track and understand/notify of Zeem’s & customers (fleets) regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS preferably with a concentration in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Business Administration, History, or Law. A graduate degree in related fields is a plus.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience.
  • Grant writing and/or experience responding to government proposals is required.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with California transportation, energy, and environmental policies as well as relationships with key government program staff and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills focused on outreach and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional business writing and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive with hands-on approach to take initiative and follow through.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks to maintain deadlines and ensure quality control.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task while emphasizing quality.
  • Works well under pressure to successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Location

  • The position will be remote, ideally located in California, but strong candidates outside the state will be considered.
  • Travel up to 25-50% required

The annual compensation estimate for this role is within the range of $75,000 - $100,000, plus the possibility of additional short-term incentive compensation and equity for exceptionally well-qualified candidates. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law. If you are someone outside of this range who is interested in this opportunity, we would still encourage you to apply.
