Responsibilities

About the Team:
We are looking for a talented, driven and experienced government relations professional to support our growing Federal Government Affairs team. The Public Policy Manager, Federal Government Affairs will maintain and build relationships with policymakers and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as legal, communications and the policy team to help guide development of products, services and policies. This role will advocate, internally and externally, for policy positions that benefit and protect the TikTok user community, and identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, and issues of importance to the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with legislators, regulators, peer companies, and trade associations and their staff members to advance the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders such as legal, communications and the policy team on public policy matters to help guide development of products, services and policies.
  • Advocate, internally and externally, policy positions that benefit and protect the TikTok user community.
  • Identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, and issues of importance to the company.
  • Articulate policy positions in briefing papers, consultation responses, and internal policy meetings.
  • Execute strategies for engaging with policymakers around issues important to TikTok and our community of creators.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive professional experience working in public policy and/or government, including Congress, agency and/or administration.
  • Knowledge of the legislative process and tech policy, and experience in legislative drafting
  • Previous advocacy experience, including ability to analyze and communicate business implications of public policy.
  • Outstanding writing skills and ability to distill complex policy issues into simple explanations and compelling messages.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and exercise sound judgement and discretion. Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • JD or Advanced degree in Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous political experience.
  • Previous experience working at a large company.
Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is 178200 - 330480 annually.



Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
