ABOUT THE ROLE

The Policy & Advocacy Manager will lead Clēnera's strategies around policy, regulation, and advocacy. Responsible for building strong external relationships and creating strategic connections with external stakeholders and government entities in order to advance Clēnera's growth, presence, and future vision.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and enhance relationships with lawmakers, industry leaders and other stakeholders to advocate for favorable renewable energy policies. Represent Clēnera's interests in a professional and credible manner.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret complex policy matters in the renewable energy sector in order to assess business implications, strategically and tactically, and in regard to current and future/proposed policy and legislation.
  • Lead organizational initiatives around identifying emerging trends and opportunities in the renewable energy sector and provide insights to executive leadership to inform strategic planning and policy development.
  • Organize and participate in meetings, public forums, and legislative discussions to promote renewable energy policies, advocate, and gather feedback from stakeholders.
  • Facilitate proactive advocacy as well as real-time representation of Clenera's interests in problem resolution of complex business challenges impacted by federal, state, or local regulatory/related circumstances.
  • Conduct analysis of policy, industry trends and markets around emerging technologies in order to advance the company's solar and storage project development initiatives.
  • Prepare written documentation of policy and related research and analysis impacting the organization and/or legislation or other advocacy efforts.
  • Utilize technical and industry research/expertise to provide insight around future industry trends, actual and/or anticipated future regulatory impacts, and innovative solutions aligned with business strategy.
  • May have responsibility for people management and/or budgetary responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Public Policy, Environment Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in policy analysis, advocacy, or related roles.
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
    • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear and actionable policy recommendations.
    • Proven track record of successful advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
    • Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and negotiate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Travel: up to 50%
