Position Scope and Responsibilities:

The Fundraising Coordinator assists with the overall execution of major donor fundraising on behalf of Cardinal Strategies LLC’s clients. Primary responsibilities include research, major donor cultivation, current donor communication and retention, event planning, donor data management, and analysis. Specific duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Research and analyze donor and prospect data to identify and qualify appropriate targets for campaigns, special events, and other cultivation, and to develop customized strategies for cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition.

• Manage the receipt of major donor gifts including maintaining databases (i.e. Aristotle and iDONATEpro), monitoring major gifts budget, and assessing benchmarks.

• Manage donor fulfillment and recognition, including thank you letters and/or calls.

• Help create customized communications to prospective donors, including appropriately personalized acknowledgements.

• Assist in preparing written proposals, cases for support, or other presentation materials to support events or individual meetings.

• Work with fundraising staffers to implement a finance plan, including the development and management of a major donor giving pipeline.

• Assist in crafting and managing communications and benefits for Major Donor programs.

• Assist in planning and executing high-dollar events for major donors and elected officials in Washington, DC, and around the country.

• Assist with the implementation of short-term and long-term fundraising plans and projections and provide progress/status tracking reports.

• Implement a major gifts plan to retain and renew current donors, including production of renewal invoices.

• Assist in managing principals’ fundraising travel, meetings, and calls. Includes staffing when appropriate.

• Help create fundraising materials distributed to current and prospective major donors, including but not limited to letters, emails, newsletters, proposals, PowerPoint presentations, and reports.

• Capacity to understand complex and unfamiliar subjects.

• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

• Knowledge of word processing, and spreadsheet programs and general familiarity with database programs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. 

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
