The Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) is currently seeking a full-time Director of Health Care Policy to join our busy and fast-paced Policy team. The Director of Health Care policy will lead PPI’s work in covering the many facets of health care policy, and will work closely with intersecting policy teams, as well as the Communications and Government Relations teams. This position is based in Washington, D.C. and will work full-time in the D.C. office.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and offer radically pragmatic policy solutions in the health policy landscape
  • Publish policy briefs, papers, and memos on a variety of health policy issue areas
  • Write opinion pieces and blogs on health policy priorities of PPI
  • Represent PPI’s views on public panels, podcasts, and in the press
  • Manage policy projects, proposals, and initiatives with internal and external stakeholders, domestic and international partner organizations, and policymakers
  • Assist in event organization and execution
  • Coordinate with PPI’s policy team on shared goals


Qualifications:

  • An entrepreneurial spirit
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Public Policy, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of three years of directly relevant work experience in health policy, preferably on Capitol Hill or in a statehouse
  • A thorough understanding of the federal and state-wide health policy landscape
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and adhere to project deadlines
  • Strong writing, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Advanced quantitative capabilities
  • Willingness to juggle multiple projects, take initiative, problem-solve, and think strategically
