Bridges to Independence is a non-profit organization that leads individuals and families out of poverty and into stable, independent futures. We offer a continuum of aid and support for all family members, helping them attain financial security and self-sufficiency. The Development Coordinator Provides direct support in the development and execution of fundraising programs and events. The Development Coordinator also develops and strengthens communication efforts within Bridges and across external donors and sponsors.

  • Execute the day-to-day internal tasks for the development division in support of the Director of Development
  • Input gift information in the donor management database and process letters
  • Provide reports to the Director of Development on the status of fundraising goals and track gift renewals
  • Update donor contact information in the donor management system and email portal
  • Work with the Director of Development to process and update local, state, and national fundraising    registrations
  • Provide W-9 forms to donors and process signature forms for grants
  • Field donation inquiries regarding website issues or reprocessing letters
  • Establish relationships with local vendors (restaurants, grocery stores, etc.) that enable Bridges to participate in profit-sharing activities
  • Actively assist the Director of Development with fundraising, including developing strategies.
  • Support fundraising event logistics, including timelines, vendor agreements, etc.
  • Fulfill and track corporate sponsorship benefits
  • Manage registration, including confirming contact details with event participants, reporting on the status of goal, and identifying opportunities to promote event registration
  • Process local or state permits for tax exemptions or to secure venue locations
  • Work with the Director of Development on securing event program speakers and implementing speaker logistics
  • Provide logistical support for peer-to-peer and beneficiary events
  • Reach out to community partners regarding events in collaboration with the Director of Development
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development on special events, such as cultivation and stewardship events
  • Develop and manage event committees to include establishing meeting battle rhythms, agendas, and meeting minutes
  • Review Donor Perfect repeatedly to ensure donor information is accurate
  • Clean up (export, pool, etc.) mail list to enable accurate mailing of year-end letters (thank you, taxes, etc.) 
  • Assist the Director of Development with the reconciliation of financial records
  • Oversee Bridges’ information table logistics at community events and employee giving fairs
  • Represent Bridges at community events to network for new contacts or leads for the Director of Development
  •  Coordinating shelter volunteer events
  • Backstop Bridges’ volunteer events by attending and supporting logistical needs
  • Attend the above activities that may be during early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Volunteer Management - Support building and growing a volunteer program, including recruitment, screening, placement
  • Develop and maintain a repository of Bridges success stories and impact statements that maximize Bridges’ ability to secure support and funding from stakeholders, donors, and grantors
  • Develop communications products (blogs, stories, e-blasts, flyers, newsletters, short video clips, annual reports, appeal letters, brochures, etc.) that strengthen external awareness of Bridges.’
