Community Access to the Arts (CATA) is an innovative nonprofit arts organization that nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities across our community.

As a development team member reporting to the Development Director (DD), you will work closely with the Associate Director of Development, Communications Director, and Development Associate. 

You’ll use your strong database and prospect management skills to support events, appeals, and the expansion of the major gifts program. You are highly motivated and passionate about developing your skills in nonprofit fundraising. You have a keen attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a dedicated team, and you value relationships, knowing these are at the heart of development work. You excel at creating donor and fundraising reports, and you are excited to use data to help drive strategy for cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting donors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the DD, help develop, execute, and support a comprehensive annual fundraising plan, supporting strategies that increase gifts and nurture donors’ generosity.

Major Gifts: Working closely with the DD and Executive Director (ED), support growth of robust major donor program; track and monitor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship including meeting notes; research and prepare donor profiles; draft custom reports and proposals; help develop major gift strategies.

Database Reports & Lists: Serve as in-house expert on donor database reports; create weekly fundraising reports to track progress to goal; generate regular reports on outstanding pledges; create reports and segmented lists to support external mailings, eBlasts, appeals, invitations and other projects.

Gala & Special Events: Support CATA’s highly successful gala fundraiser which engages 400+ donors annually; coordinate planning and mailing of sponsorship solicitation; track underwriting and RSVPs for gala and other donor events; create guest lists and other materials; attend gala committee meetings and support planning as directed; help coordinate other special events, including receptions and house parties; attend and support special events.

Online Giving Platform: Help create strategy and materials for online giving; Draft and maintain donation and reply forms for online giving platform; serve as liaison for online giving vendor relationship

Committees: Help support board development committee, gala committee, campaign steering committee and other fundraising-related committees as assigned, working closely with DD to ensure smooth operations, scheduling, and appropriate materials.

Support special fundraising projects as needed including capital campaigns, and conduct other relevant duties to support the broader mission of CATA as required.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred, with demonstrated success in database management and prospect management
  • High proficiency in CRM software and donor databases; Bloomerang experience a plus
  • Proven expertise in Google Suite, MS Office, project management tools, and other fundraising technology
  • Excellent time management, organizational planning, and administrative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Superb written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices including ethics, research, cultivation, special events, solicitation, direct mail, gift processing, proposal writing, and reporting
  • Ability to relate to a diverse range of people and stakeholders with ease, discretion, and diplomacy and to exercise cultural competence and inclusion
  • Must have reliable transportation to Great Barrington, MA. This is an in-person role. Local travel is required to attend CATA events, with mileage reimbursement available
