Summary
Serves as an assistant to the Director, Principal Deputy Director, and/or the Chief of Staff. As the principal assistant and advisor, performs key work in several vital functions or services which oversees matters and advises key staff on the policies and procedures.
Duties
As a Administrative Assistant, GS-0303-9, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Manages the calendar, arranging meetings, and ensuring that the D/WHIT is prepared for all meetings.
Manages the details of travel and itineraries. Receiving, screening, and answering telephonic and personal visitors/requests.
Composes, reviews, and edits correspondence.
Researches and provides necessary background information to correspondence requiring attention.
Assembles necessary material to compose correspondence, securing and summarizing information from a variety of sources to include forwarding correspondence to appropriate parties.
Reviews all outgoing correspondence for clarity, completeness of reply, proper format, grammar, typographical accuracy, and compliance with written policy.
Collaborates with coworkers to ensure work projects assigned across organizational lines are completed in a timely manner providing daily or weekly reports on progress to leadership.
Evaluates and assists with the implementation of administrative and management directives; keeping organizational personnel abreast of directions, policies, procedures, reporting requirements, and monitoring to ensure compliance.
