Summary

This position is located in Office of Human Capital and Training, Chief of Staff Division.


As a Communications Specialist, you will develop quality communications strategies and products to inform USCIS employees and external customers of human capital services and policies. You will tailor messages and decide timing so the right people get the right message at the right time.


Duties

Directs and leads communication campaigns to engage the workforce on key agency human resources and training priorities.

Prepares and executes strategic communication plans and products: tailors messages to various audiences and determines effective timing.

Helps define goals for specific communication efforts. Regularly analyzes communications efforts, recommending innovative solutions to ensure the USCIS workforce stays informed of HR policies, guidance, programs, and services.

Tracks current trends in communication.

Advises managers, project leads, and subject matter experts on effective strategies to reach intended audiences.

Works cooperatively with the agency's central public affairs office, across human capital divisions, with stakeholders across USCIS, and with DHS to create and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships, leverage information, and achieve results.
