Job Description
ArtsWestchester seeks an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Human Resources to be a strategic thought-partner. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative manager. They will manage all aspects of human resources, from staffing to payroll processing, benefits administration.The Associate Director of Human Resources joins the team at an exciting moment for the organization, as it enters a new chapter in its leadership and capital expansion.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the staffing process, from recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding, and termination
- Process payroll bi-monthly via Paychex Flex
- Administer and manage benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and 403(b) plans, as well as organizational insurance plans (general liability, Directors & Officers, etc.)
- Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits, create compensation benchmarks for all employee levels based on market research and pay surveys, recommend competitive benefits
- Investigate employee issues and conflict and brings them to resolution
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
- Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
- Maintain company organization charts and employee directory
- Partner with leadership to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with organization’s initiatives
- Maintain HR systems and processes
- Design and implement employee retention strategies
- Analyze and recommend training needs/requirements
Qualifications / Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct research for special projects
- Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues
- Strong decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in business, organizational development, human resource management or relevant field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience
- Experience may be considered equivalent if experience demonstrates increased depth and breadth of responsibility
