Job Description
Conservative Public Relations/Communications firm seeks applicants for our Media Monitoring/War Room team. This position is for a 10 PM – 6 AM ET shift. This fast-paced position serves as the eyes and ears for our firm and our high-profile political clients, responsible for discovering, tracking, and alerting breaking news. Candidates must be self-driven, team players, and have a strong work ethic. Prior experience in conservative political research, political campaigns, public affairs, or on Capitol Hill are a plus.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Perform media monitoring, track, and alert pertinent news to various parties
-Utilize social media, cable television, and news media to find relevant news
-Create and distribute multiple daily research products that are dispersed to individuals inside the organization as well as to outside clients
-Monitoring, clipping, and editing video and audio files
-Coordinate with other departments as well as clients to quickly engage in rapid response to developing news
Preferred Qualifications:
-Undergraduate degree, with a preferred major of communications, journalism, political science, public relations, media studies, or a related field of study
-A strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and previous research experience
-Previous experience with navigating relevant social media monitoring platforms such as Twitter, Tweetdeck, Facebook, and YouTube.
-Ability to rapidly adjust, adapt, and respond to shifting circumstances
-Proven ability to complete assigned tasks on time and manage competing deadlines
-Prior experience with Microsoft Office, Meltwater, Grabien (or other video/audio clipping and editing software).
