Founded in 2004, Grace Outreach is a female-focused organization that serves underserved women 18 years and older who seek to improve their academic status by securing their High School Equivalency diploma, pursuing higher education, and/or gaining living-wage employment. Grace Outreach originally started as a high school equivalency education center; since 2004, Grace Outreach has grown to include additional services that align with the goal of our clients achieving self-sufficiency.     https://graceoutreachbronx.or                                                  

Grace Outreach is seeking a dynamic and passionate Director of College & Careers Programming & Partnerships. The ideal candidate will be innovative and capable of engaging with the community enhancing and expanding the services provided that will support the academic and economic development of women students. The director will be enthusiastic and experienced with community engagement. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong ability to plan and execute initiatives that foster growth for the organization and the participants we serve. This position requires the ability to build and lead a team.  This role will involve building and leveraging relationships in the community and with our students. As a part of the Leadership team, the Director will be expected to oversee the daily management of programs, recruitment, fundraising, and program growth. 

The Director of College & Career Programming and Partnerships will also engage outside the organization, to establish, and maintain relationships with community partners including vocational training programs, employer partners, profit/nonprofit organizations, and community-based organizations. Serve on community coalitions and committees representing GO. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Department - College and Career Programs:

Leadership Responsibilities 

  • Ensure the day-to-day career and college activities are serving the women students effectively and successfully, including alumnae.
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure implementation of the College Prep Program.
  • Establish relationships and knowledge of the stakeholders in the Bronx and NYC-wide workforce/economic development landscape
  • Manage program staff
  • Support the grant writing, preparation, and reporting process. 
  • Oversee program schedules, curriculum development/identification, and the delivery of information and materials 
  • Ensure Best Practices are used to develop students for various career opportunities and college entry
  • Ensure students are attending computer training courses
  • Set department growth goals and create/lead plans for implementation
  • Contribute to the growth of the organization and student engagement                                           
  • Serve as an active member of the leadership team                                                                    
  •  Possess experience working with adult women

Skills/Abilities

  • Build innovative and engaging college/career and digital literacy programming with the goal of preparing women students for success in today’s workforce.
  • Ensure staff are supporting and engaging in the completion of the documents for college entry, including financial aid, grants, scholarships, etc. 
  • Responsible for accurate metrics for program performance and preparing analysis for internal and external use.
  • Establish relationships and opportunities with employer partners.
  • Supervise, train, and coach staff to high performance, job satisfaction, and personal and professional growth.   
  •  Develop and deliver relevant and engaging curricula and lesson plans for the college and career department 
  • Design new and innovative technology-centered teaching approaches for program participants 
  • Advise students on living wage and career opportunities without a college degree
  •  Establish and grow vital partnerships with NYC employers, workforce training programs, colleges, and CBOs to ensure a strong pipeline and placements for students and alumnae.

Coordinate and Deliver Career/College Events:

  • Plan and lead events, trips, and activities for the growth of the students.
  • Facilitate Career workshops; secure partner presentations, manage scheduling & event logistics,

Support Executive Team with Organizational/Program Level Initiatives:

  • Capture, manage, analyze outcomes, and review data utilizing the Salesforce CRM platform and interactive database.
  • Assist Executive Director with program-level grants through the provision of metrics, strategic planning, engaging with existing and potential funders, and writing supplemental program descriptions. 
  • Provide monthly reports of career program initiatives, activities, outcomes, and success stories.
  • Collaborate with the development team when there's an opportunity and/or need
  • Create content for GO social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and blog.     
  • Complete a high volume of varied responsibilities and thrive in a fast-paced setting.

  • Able to maintain discretion regarding sensitive issues and confidential information.
  • Ability to contribute to the organization's well-established positive culture, and ethical values and practices.
  • A willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to navigate the internet and integrate technology into classroom instruction.
  • Ability to skillfully utilize Microsoft Office Suite software and Google Apps.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM/database software. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, with 5 or more years of experience leading a department/program in workforce development/non-profit management or related field. Additional education and/or credentials are a plus. Ability to communicate in English/Spanish effectively is a plus
