Role Responsibilities

The Manager of Institutional Giving supports fundraising efforts specifically for grants and individual giving as well as Salesforce management. The Manager of Institutional Giving will also support the Development team's administrative tasks, including preparing for meetings with funders, scheduling, email correspondence, and data upkeep. Activities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • CRM Administration and Reporting (10%)
    • Maintaining the Development team’s institutional giving dashboard by updating meeting notes, scheduled meetings and next steps.
    • Prepare for Development meetings and step backs.
    • Responsible for team management of Salesforce CRM data entry and reporting, and overall maintenance of the Salesforce CRM platform.
  • Stewardship and Prospect Research (20%)
    • Serve as the primary steward of the institutional giving program, to update corporate foundations, independent foundations, and government agencies on organizational impact and outcomes.
    • Support the acquisition of new institutional partners for TKH’s local work and national expansion, including identifying and researching new institutional giving prospects, crafting engagement plans, and cultivating relationships.
    • Manage funder relationships through strategic outreach and meaningful touch points (e.g. site visits, attending TKH events, connecting with alums).
    • Develop and maintain prospect pipelines, implementing engagement plans that include the CEO, Program Director, and other key stakeholders.
  • Grants Management (50%)
    • Coordinate with the development team to draft, review, and submit grant proposals, reports, and prospect research.
    • Manage the grant and reports calendar.
    • Manage grant submission process
    • Create compelling grant proposals that articulate TKH’s mission, outcomes, and success.
    • Collaborate across teams to fulfill reporting requirements, ensuring that all deadlines and budgetary goals are met.
    • Support storytelling efforts to highlight specific TKH achievements, including student success and broader community impact.
  • Administrative Support (20%)
    • Assist with drafting correspondence and development materials.
    • Support the creation of funder stewardship messages, email replies, gifts, acknowledgments, and reports that increase giving.
    • Coordinate scheduling of meetings and events for the development team
    • Schedule weekly funder follow-up times, and funder site visits, and keep notes of all funder meetings and debriefs.
    • Schedule funder meetings and site visits and update next steps, ensuring 48-hour follow-up.
    • Maintaining the small but growing individual giving segment activities including tracking donations and donation acknowledgements
    • Data entry and reporting in Salesforce and other tracking
    • Support special events or any other projects with the development team.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional nonprofit setting;
  • A minimum of 2 years in a development role;
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, social media and experience with Salesforce;
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to conduct and coordinate multiple tasks and projects under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to produce high-quality work;
  • Able to work in ambiguous and fast-paced environments;
  • Analytical skills and strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others, including actively reaching out to colleagues to support or consult on projects and maintaining a collaborative work environment

Compensation and Benefits

  • $70,000 -$85,000 per year
