Want to intern on Capitol Hill this summer? College to Congress, a bipartisan nonprofit 501(c)(3), provides students an 8-week internship in Congress. Interns in the College to College program will experience the political world of Capitol Hill as they work in a congressional office for A Member of Congress in either the House or the Senate.

Job responsibilities:

-Answering constituent phone calls

-Giving tours of Capitol building

-Conducting legislative research

-Facilitating efficiency of congressional office

-Attending hearings and briefings 


Benefits:

-All costs of internship will be paid in full by the program including housing, flight to and from DC, food costs, clothing stipend, etc.

-Mentorship opportunities with experienced hill staffers

-Leadership Series to acclimate you to “The Hill” environment


Qualifications:

-Have completed your sophomore year and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution).

-Qualify for FAFSA Federal Aid. A Student Aid Report (SAR) will be required as proof of your FAFSA eligibility.

-Be available to live in Washington, D.C. from June 3 to July 31

-An essay responding to one of three topics: 

1) Why do you want to come to DC and intern on Capitol Hill? 

2) Share an adversity you have faced and how you have overcome it.

3) Choose a political issue and advocate for or against it.

If accepted into the College to Congress internship program you will be paired with an office that matches your political alignment and focuses on issues that are important to you. You may request to intern in either the House or the Senate or let us help you decide.
