Your role in helping us shape the future:

The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships is a seasoned sales leader responsible for building, overseeing and expanding relationships within the D.C. Beltway and beyond. With a consultative sales approach, this role involves managing complex, multi-dimensional accounts while aligning solutions with clients' long-term business, reputation and public policy goals. This is a new role created to support our burgeoning live journalism. The successful candidate is an entrepreneur who can see the potential and build and lead a team that understands how our premium products can best serve client needs.


Are you up to the challenge?

  • Consultative Sales: Cultivate and sustain a vibrant sales pipeline within policy and corporate markets, driving consistent and impressive revenue growth.
  • Packaging: Use your deep knowledge of Congress and policy to work with editorial leaders to craft personalized packages across our event, branded content, digital advertising and sponsorship opportunities that close deals and win over clients.
  • Account Management Oversight: Manage and grow complex relationships across multiple levels of client organizations, ensuring long-term satisfaction and partnership.
  • Client Engagement: Develop, build, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing best-in-class service and support across multiple business units and departments within a client organization.
  • Sales Presentations: Work with marketing team to conceptualize, prepare, and deliver compelling sales presentations, collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment with client objectives.
  • Revenue Targets: Drive outsized revenue growth by achieving and exceeding $2M annual sales targets through strategic account planning and engagement.
  • Market Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements that impact key accounts.

You should definitely have:

  • 7-10 years of sales experience in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Media experience is a plus.
  • Relationships with public affairs, government affairs and public policy leaders in Washington, D.C.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals in a senior sales or account management role.
  • Expertise in managing complex, multi-layered client relationships within a B2B environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead in-person sales conversations.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and the ability to translate these into actionable sales strategies.
  • This role is based in Washington, DC. Candidates must have the ability to travel frequently for client meetings and maintain a high level of client engagement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

  • The anticipated base salary for this position is $200,000+ with incentive-based commission based on experience. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
