Staff position, full time, exempt employee

 

The salary for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Eno also offers a competitive benefits package that includes but is not limited to:

The position in based in Washington, DC, though remote work flexibility will be considered.

Overview/Summary:

The Membership and Development Associate is an indispensable member of the Eno Center for Transportation (Eno) staff. This staff member helps to ensure the smooth operations of Eno’s membership and other development programs and initiatives across the organization. This position also provides members and other partners with support to access the website, job listings, and other services as needed.

 

The Membership and Development Associate reports to the Chief Development Officer. The position is full-time exempt, with occasional weekends and evenings required.


Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Membership Coordination and Support (50%):

  • Provide account management and technical support to members, assisting them in accessing Eno services and resources. Develop and create tutorials, guides, and other resources as needed to enhance the member experience. Collaborate with the Development and Communications staff to implement strategies that improve member satisfaction and engagement.
  • Prepare and send Eno’s key digital publications: ETW, ETW Express, and Eno Connector in collaboration with the ETW editor and Chief Development Officer.
  • Manage membership support systems to ensure a world-class member experience by gathering feedback, supporting the implementation of enhancements, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Foster strong relationships with current and prospective members, addressing their needs and inquiries promptly.
  • Enter and update attendees, members, alumni, and other stakeholders in Eno’s CRM database to ensure data integrity. Track payments and invoices for members, courses, and special events to maintain CRM accuracy. Ensure member and alumni distribution lists in Mailchimp are up to date and correct.
  • Contribute to Eno Transportation Weekly as the staff author for Eno-related items, including solicitation of content from outside sources and coordinating content from Eno staff. Manage freelancer work, as needed.
  • Work with team to develop an editorial calendar ensuring a diversity of topics across all modes of transportation and engaging external members and experts to submit op-eds.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Communications and Development Support (50%):

  • Serve as the first point of contact through the Eno Public Affairs mailbox, providing a positive first impression for members and participants, routing press inquiries, and offering support as needed.
  • Support events and programs (virtual and in-person), including scheduling, technical and website support, evaluation support, registration and payment, and other administrative support as assigned.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics and scheduling for Eno Board meetings, including for the Directors, Advisors, and Regents. Handle a range of administrative tasks such as preparing and distributing meeting materials, taking minutes during meetings, maintaining up-to-date contact information in the CRM and rosters, and ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded and accessible.
  • Manage and coordinate alumni engagement activities to increase satisfaction and build a strong community. Oversee content and interactions on Eno’s Alumni Association page, social media groups, and email and digital outreach. Collaborate with the Communications Manager to regularly update and communicate with Alumni, ensuring consistent engagement and timely dissemination of information.
  • Support the proposal writing and grants management process by maintaining an organized list of current proposals and related documents. This includes updating staff resumes, project descriptions, and qualifications. Assist in tracking proposal deadlines, submission statuses, and follow-up actions to ensure timely and efficient grant management.
  • Monitor news, updates, and research relevant to initiatives and staff to share with Eno’s audience and boost Eno’s visibility. Update Eno in the News on the website accordingly.
  • Provide support for strategic and operational initiatives, including policy projects, HR initiatives, and other special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, marketing, communications, public administration, social work, or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience of administrative, communications, and/or program support experience

  • Proficiency with data management systems, such as a CRM or AMS
  • Strong data analysis skills to inform fundraising strategies and measure outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives for fundraising.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, members, and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding and adherence to ethical standards in fundraising and nonprofit management.
  • Experience with WordPress and MailChimp preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
