Summary

This position is located in the Government Accountability Office. As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist you will be responsible for for providing news, media, and the public with accurate and timely information about GAO and its activities. OPA assists GAO management and staff with press contacts and electronic media, creates a range of digital contents for sharing on the web and across other platforms, and sets the Agency's press policies.



Duties

As a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist, MS-1035-I, your typical work assignments may include the following:


Supervise a division of the GAO communications and public affairs operations and provide leadership for GAO's external communications efforts in that division (media relations, digital experience, multi-media, social media, or plain language).

Direct and manage the development of standard operating procedures, technical guidance and processes that meet objectives and are consistent, clear, and concise.

Advise mission team executives on media and public outreach strategies for reports and bodies of work.

Plan, and evaluate strategies, building on industry best practices and lessons learned to transform the internal and external digital customer experience.

Develop initial initiation, plans, implements, controls, modifications, and executes of all or part of an entire project, management study, initiative, or data gathering effort for implementation, specifically related to the customer experience to transform the internal and external customer experience.
