The Walton Family Foundation (WFF) is seeking an experienced, skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the foundation as a Communications Officer, Executive Communications and Partnerships.

About the Position

The Communications Officer, Executive Communications and Partnerships will manage the WFF Strategic Grant Fund from planning to grantmaking and through execution. Specific duties include the following:

  • Continually build knowledge of emerging events and best practices
  • Work with department leadership to develop and execute external engagement plans for WFF leaders
  • Establish an external engagement plan for leaders in the Executive Office and equip them with the resources and briefing materials in advance of each engagement
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for the Executive Director’s social media channels to increase awareness and support of the Foundation
  • Generate content for earned, owned, and paid media
  • Develop and lead WFF-wide multi-channel campaigns
  • Manage department budget and tracking of key performance measures
  • Manage and lead execution of WFF external events, including conferences, receptions, roundtables, and webinars
  • Other duties as assigned by Communications Director

Qualifications required for your success

The Communications Officer, Executive Communications and Partnerships must possess the following professional skills:

  • At least five years of communications work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills; digital skills a bonus

Additional helpful experience includes:

  • Experience working on government, political campaigns, or communications agencies


All offers of employment are contingent on your successful completion (where permitted by state law) of a confidentiality agreement and background check. In addition, you will need to provide proper identification verifying your eligibility to work in the United States on your first day of work.


Compensation Range: $110,000 - $137,000

Benefits Information: We offer a comprehensive and generous benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k)-retirement plan and paid time off.
