The Democratic Party of Oregon is hiring an experienced, top-quality Mail Program Coordinator for its campaign’s important races in 2024: including our Presidential, Congressional, and Statewide Races, as well as state legislative and local offices. We will be accepting applications and interviewing on a rolling basis with a start date as soon as possible.

An ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented and a responsible self-starter who is eager to work on this historic campaign cycle and who is willing to adapt to a changing campaign climate.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide coordination and support for the Democratic Party of Oregon Coordinated Campaign direct mail program focused on State House & State Senate races, Statewide Races and general mail for the State Party.
  • Monitors all aspects of mail program; production, compliance, approval, budget, payments for postage and production, program tracking and completing a program archive.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Maintains spreadsheets to track invoices, budget and financial requirements.
  • Reviews all bills working with the Compliance Director.
  • Accounts payable/Accounts Receivable
  • In-kind notifications
  • Supervise Volunteer Exempt Mail program
  • Banking duties as necessary
  • Occasional driving will be required
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to voter outreach responsibilities

Required:

  • Enthusiasm for Democratic politics.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to train and instruct volunteers.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong organizational, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in setting and achieving measurable targets and coordinating between multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple priority projects and meet established timelines.
  • Ability to meet strategic goals and work effectively with regional and local leaders.
  • Comfortable dealing with vendors and monitoring supervisors
  • Reliable access to a vehicle
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Please note, this position is a campaign cycle position. You will be expected to work at least 40 hours per week, but may work as many as 60 hours a week as we get closer to election day. This job may require evening and weekend work. All employees will have a guaranteed 1 day off per week between September and Election Day, and two days off per week after Election Day through the end of the contract.

This is a full-time exempt position, starting ASAP. Benefits include a phone stipend, fully paid health, vision, and dental coverage, and mileage reimbursement for qualifying travel. Salary is $4,200 monthly. Coordinated Campaign staff will receive a stipend for phone and internet access, and required computer technology will be provided. This position is based in our Portland office, and is not remote.This position is of limited duration and will run through November 15, 2024. At the conclusion of this temporary employment you will receive severance equal to half (0.5) of a regular pay period.
