Job Description
Regulatory Affairs plays an integral role in bringing new products to the market in the shortest possible period of time while ensuring that all ingredients and packaging materials are safe to use in, or in contact with, food and beverages. All marketed products must maintain full compliance with local regulations while they are on shelf and available to consumers. Regulatory Affairs plays a pivotal role in ensuring that KDP products are safe and compliant while maintaining a competitive edge regarding claims, labeling, and advertising.
The primary role of the Regulatory Affairs Analyst is to support the KDP regulatory team in ensuring regulatory compliance of our marketed products in the U.S. Additionally, the Regulatory Affairs Analyst may review information from government and technical sources relevant to our brands.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the KDP Regulatory team in verifying compliance of our marketed products and regulatory maintenance. All responsibilities listed below will be under direction of the KDP regulatory team.
- Review of packaging graphics for both the U.S. and Canada, in accordance with local regulations, and other applicable legislation.
- Review and approve ingredient specifications.
- Provide regulatory support for maintenance of data in Optiva including data review and updates.
- Support simple regulatory requests from the Product Tech Service team.
- Provide declarations of composition for International products as requested.
- Assist KDP regulatory team as needed in various projects.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs of a Consumer Products Company, preferably the food industry.
- Knowledge of U.S. regulations required, Canadian regulations preferred.
- High level of attention to detail required.
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate, with a great degree of flexibility.
- Strong communication skills
- University degree in a scientific field (B.S., Food Science, Biology Chemistry Toxicology, Nutrition,) required. M.S. preferred.
- Ability to creatively problem solve in the regulatory space
- Strong ability to build collaborative relationships
- Good knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Optiva).
